9th Avenue is full of reasonably
priced restaurants—Burritoville, Say Cheese, Basilica, Vinyl,
Vintage et al. All of these places have reasonable if not
totally inexpensive prices.

There's a place on 8th in the 40s that has 1 dollar slices.

When I’m really poor, I do a baked potato and chili from Wendy’s
– that’s filling, pretty healthy, and 2 Bucks.

you’re really poor, you can usually buy lean cuisines at dollar
stores.

One of my favorite places to eat
is the Hollywood Diner on 6th and 16th. Really nothing special,
but the food is pretty good and the prices are reasonable...I
don't know, I just like it. They have great breakfast!

For a dinner out, a great authentic Italian place is Celeste on
the upper West Side—very reasonable.

Gray's Papaya is cheap hot dogs.
