How did you get your union card?

  • TheatreWorks USA....if it's good enough for Roger Bart, Daphne Rubin Vega, Victoria Clark, James Barbour, Richard Kind, Kevin Chamberlain, and tons of others, I figured I should try it. It worked!

  • I got my SAG card by starting out non-union extra work...then from a non-union pilot I was cast as a permanent union extra...THEN I joined when I got lines.  I joined AEA through my SAG membership.
  • I was cast in Titanic at Gateway Playhouse on Long Island.  They use Union and Non-Union actors.  I had worked for them before and negotiated to get my card at the end of the run.

  • I am not union...however my boyfriend just got his card. He was in a show that in mid-run the contract rolled over which allowed him to join.

  • Disney Orlando, Opryland, "Jekyll and Hyde" restaurant in NYC

  • If you are in NY get your card ASAP.  Any other area you can afford to wait.  I got my card from a small theatre.  When they hired me, I simply asked if at the end of the show if they could turn me equity and they said yes.

  • I had to join to tour with a production of Camelot.  I Taft-Hartley-ed twice before and had to take my card with this next Equity job.

  • I was in an EMC program and worked for a year in an off-broadway rep company
